ATLANTA, Ga. - Fulton County Commission Chairman John Eaves announced at the Dec. 5, County Board of Commissioners meeting, that the board has accepted the resignation of County Manager Zachary L. Williams.
Williams, an Alpharetta resident, joined Fulton County in 2008. He has accepted a position as executive assistant/chief operating officer for neighboring DeKalb County.
"Zach Williams has been a tremendous asset to Fulton County in his years of service here and we wish him well as he moves on to new opportunities in our sister county of DeKalb," said Eaves.
County Attorney David Ware will serve as interim county manager for 60 days when Williams leaves effective Jan. 1.
