Body found in car fire in Forsyth County identified

November 27, 2012
FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Forsyth County Sheriff's Office have released the name of person whose body was found Monday afternoon, Nov. 26 behind a burning car.

Forsyth County Fire Department reported to a car fire about 1 p.m. and crews found the body of a white male after the flames had been put out.

The man was identified as William Joseph Barefoot, 53.

"His death is not believed to be the result of foul play," said Capt. Tim House, a spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.

The death is still under investigation and an autopsy is scheduled at the Georgia Bureau of Investigations Medical Examiner's Office.

House said the car ran off the road into a ditch on Pilgrim Mill Circle, off Pilgrim Mill Road and exit 16 on Ga. 400.

"The car set on fire, and for whatever reason, the person is deceased," House told Jim Dean of the Forsyth County News.

Uncle JoJo was an amazing person, and for the people that got to witness him up close and personal you would be able to know how truly amazing he was. He will forever be in our hearts and in our love. His family and friends love him very much and hate that he's gone. But things will get better. R.I.P Uncle Joey <3
