MILTON, Ga. – Phil Jones, a rising seventh-grade student at Northwestern Middle School, won the Georgia PGA University of Georgia Junior Golf Classic in the 13 and under division July 9 and 10 in Athens, Ga. with rounds of 76 and 78.
Jones previously won the Georgia PGA Stone Mountain Junior Classic in the 13 and under division June 27-28 and the Georgia PGA Brickyard Junior Classic in the 13 and under division in Macon March 24 -25. He also won the Atlanta Junior Golf Tour Tournament at Barnsley Gardens Golf Club on May 29 for boys 12 and under. In June, Jones finished tied for 26th at the Future Masters Golf Tournament (a national invitational tournament) in Dothan, Ala. in the 12 and under division. Jones is currently ranked 84th in the country for the 2018 graduation year by the Junior Golf Scoreboard. He is the son of Dale and Kimberly Jones of Alpharetta.
