Northside Hospitals receive recognition awards for heart attack care

June 10, 2013
ATLANTA — Three Northside Hospitals – Atlanta, Cherokee and Forsyth – each have achieved the American Heart Association's Mission: Lifeline Receiving Center Quality Achievement Award. This recognizes Northside's commitment and success in implementing exceptional standards of care for heart attack patients.

"Northside Hospital is committed to improving the standards of care and patient outcomes of our heart attack patients," said Liz Sobczyk, director of cardiovascular services. "We are pleased that our efforts are being recognized, and I am very proud of our team."

As one of the strongest comprehensive cardiology programs in the Southeast, Northside Hospital offers a wide range of diagnostic, treatment and support services – encompassing the entire range of care for the heart patient.

A team of board-certified cardiologists, cardiac-trained nurses and technologists at Northside has the highest level of expertise in diagnosing and treating disorders like coronary artery blockages, congenital heart defects and heart failure.

In addition to Mission: Lifeline, each of the three Northside campuses is fully accredited as a Chest Pain Center from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care.

Northside Hospital-Atlanta and Northside Hospital-Forsyth also are designated UnitedHealth Premium specialty centers, in recognition of quality care in cardiac services.
