April 02, 2013MILTON, Ga. – Three men were arrested March 27 and charged with murdering a 19-year-old Milton man outside his home.
Milton police, with the assistance of the Roswell and Alpharetta police departments and North Fulton SWAT, arrested the suspects at a series of locations throughout North Fulton – one at his place of work and the other two at their apartment in Roswell.
Officers obtained warrants March 26 for the arrest of Matthew Goins, 20, of Alpharetta, Michael Grant, 23, of Roswell, and Richard Davidson, 20, of Roswell, in connection with the crime. They are all in Fulton County Jail without bond.
All three suspects are charged with murder, aggravated assault and attempted armed robbery. Additionally, Davidson is charged with possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Walker, an Alpharetta High School graduate, was shot once in the head just before 7:30 p.m. in the driveway of his Silhouette Court home. He was transported to North Fulton Regional Hospital, where he died.
Shortly after the murder, police released surveillance footage from the Taco Bell restaurant at North Point Mall where they believe Walker ran into the three men and had an altercation.
Officers believe the suspects targeted Walker because of a gold chain he wore and they followed him from the restaurant to his home in Milton.
Leads in the case came the Crime Stoppers tip line, and officers were able to locate the suspects based on a description of the car used in the crime.
“With a random crime such as this, if we don't have the community's help, it's tough to crack,” said Sgt. Jason Griffin, with the Milton Police Department, and called the tips through Crime Stoppers “instrumental” in the investigation.
