January 22, 2013 FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Four people were injured on Sunday night in a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Bethelview Road in central Forsyth County.
According to Investigator Ron Tomblin of the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Traffic Specialist Unit, all four persons remained hospitalized as of today.
The collision occurred around 9 p.m. on Sunday when a 2007 Mercury Grand Marquise being driven by Jocelyn Afari, 50, of Cumming, was traveling on Hanover Lane and failed to stop at the stop sign.
After she failed to stop at the stop sign, Tomblin said, Afari was traveling too fast to make the turn off Hanover Lane onto Bethelview Road without going into the southbound lane of Bethelview Road.
Afari went into the southbound lane and struck a 2010 Toyota Rav 4 head-on.
The Toyota was being driven by Yvonne Schumacher, 69, of Roswell.
Afari was transported to North Fulton Hospital in Roswell where she is now listed in stable condition.
Schumacher was transported to Northside Hospital Forsyth and is currently listed in stable condition.
Riding in the Toyota Rav 4 with Schumacher were Beatriz Ivette Villegas, 50, of Roswell, and Lara Maria Cabeza, 52, of Marietta.
Villegas is listed in stable condition at Northside Forsyth. Cabeza is being treated at North Fulton Hospital in Roswell and is also in stable condition.
Tomblin said that alcohol and drugs do not appear to be contributing factors in the collision. The crash remains under investigation.
