FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – Deputy First Class Ronald P. Rush retired from the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office today after 10 years of service.

Sheriff Ted Paxton presented Rush with a certificate and with retired law enforcement credentials during a ceremony held Dec. 7 at the sheriff's office.

"We appreciate the service you have provided to the citizens of this county," Paxton told Rush. "It was a pleasure to have you as a deputy in our agency. I wish you much success as you begin your retirement."

Rush began his career with the sheriff's office on Dec. 3, 2002.

He has worked as a detention officer, a patrol officer and a court security officer. His last assignment was working the evening shift at the detention center.

Rush said his plans for retirement include traveling with his wife and enjoying their family.
