Karen Handel has book-signing Oct. 16

North Fulton and Friends Tea Party sponsors

October 10, 2012
ROSWELL, Ga. — The Lead Committee of the North Fulton and Friends Tea Party announced it will hold a Tea Party meeting featuring North Fulton resident and former Secretary of State Karen Handel speaking and signing her new book: "Planned Bullyhood: The Truth Behind Planned Parenthood's Funding Battle with Susan G. Komen."

It is the story of the conflict between Susan G. Komen and Planned Parenthood from the woman at the center of the explosive national firestorm.

Residents will have a chance Tuesday, Oct. 16, 6:30-8 p.m. to meet, hear and get a personally signed book from Handel at the Holiday Inn, 909 Holcomb Bridge Road (behind Olive Garden and Peachtree Diner). Admission to the event is free. Books can be purchased on-site for $25.

Handel is a former candidate for Georgia governor. She also served as Georgia secretary of state and chairwoman of the Fulton County Commission. With the worldwide release of "Planned Bullyhood," Handel has been in the national news. In the explosive tell-all book, Handel documents an insider account of "how Planned Parenthood, in partnership with the liberal establishment, made Komen pay for daring to put its mission above the ideology of the almighty left."

"That's why I left Komen," she writes, "… to be free to tell the full and unadulterated truth – not attributed to unnamed sources and distorted by media assumptions and outright lies."

Fresh from appearances on national media such as Fox News, Lou Dobbs and a dozen radio and TV shows, national magazine interviews and speaking engagements, Handel discusses her politically charged position and departure as senior vice president of the Susan G. Komen Foundation and staunch resistance to funding Planned Parenthood.

"Roswell is so proud of Karen Handel," said Lead Committee member Dianne DeVore. "She is a champion for standing up to the scrutiny and heat of the left wing mainstream media. North Fulton and Friends is proud to present her to the community to thank her for her character and positions."

How dare Dianne DeVore try to speak for all residents of the city of Roswell. I, for one, am not proud of Karen Handel. As I heard the statements that Ms. Handel made during and after the Komen-Planned Parenthood battle, I realized how fortunate we are that she was not elected governor of Georgia.
