January 23, 2013Question: My husband and I have Long Term Care Insurance. We want to stay in our home but I can't take care of him by myself, does Long Term Care Insurance covers services in our home?
Pam: Yes! All Long Term Care Insurance policies are different, but I have not in the past 7 years come across a policy that doesn't cover services at home. Give me a call and we can discuss the specifics of your policy and figure out how to help you & your husband.
Q: Help! I live alone in a home in Alpharetta and I am lonely. My adult children and their families live close by, but I really miss my husband and friends. I want to live somewhere with people my age, can you help with this?
Pam: Yes ma’am. First of all, I am proud of you for being honest with yourself and for reaching out. The next step is for us to meet and discuss your needs and desires. After this meeting we can together move forward and find the best assisted living or Independent living for you!
Q: My father has recently moved into our guest home and he is very different than I remember. He repeats himself a lot and my
husband and I have found him wandering around the neighborhood a few times. Should we be concerned?
Pam: I am sorry to hear about your Father. I know that it is really hard to see these changes in someone you know and love so much. Unfortunately, problems like these can be signs that your Father may have some memory issues. I would recommend taking him in to see his Doctor to figure out exactly what is going on. Our caregivers are trained to help with normal aging issues as well as memory care issues, so either way it sounds like you may want to consider some extra help to ensure your Fathers safety.
