Autumn Leaves names Matt Summerville executive director

November 27, 2012
ATLANTA -- Autumn Leaves of Sugarloaf, an Alzheimer's and memory care community under construction in Metro Atlanta, has named Matt Summerville executive director of the community. Summerville's role will expand regionally with the development of additional Autumn Leaves communities in the area. In his position, Summerville will assume responsibility for charting the company's entry and growth in a new market, developing brand awareness, supervising community operations, and meeting the needs of seniors and their families. Autumn Leaves of Sugarloaf exclusively serves families living with Alzheimer's and dementia.

"After watching both of my grandparents on my father's side battle dementia, and witnessing how much strain it caused my dad as a caregiver; I feel this role will provide me with a chance to relate to families experiencing the same stress that we went through," said Summerville. "I am delighted to join Autumn Leaves of Sugarloaf and provide families with innovative solutions that will enable them to support their loved ones in a way that enhances their everyday lives."

Summerville will help families transition their loved ones into a community specifically designed for residents living with memory impairment. His goal is to prepare families for the long term and bring them a sense of stability.

"My most valuable strengths for this position are developing marketing strategies and growing community relations," said Summerville. "By building a reputation of memory care specialization for Autumn Leaves, families will come to us to help their loved ones with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other forms of memory impairment. We will be ready to serve them with our high level of expertise."

Holly Tenner, vice president of operations for Constant Care Family Management, the property management company for Autumn Leaves memory care communities, officially announced Summerville joining the team.

"We are excited to add Summerville to our team of memory care experts. We are committed to providing families with expert care in a home-like environment," said Tenner. "Summerville's skills in community relations, sales, and management will ensure that his team provides our residents with the compassionate care they deserve."

Prior to joining Autumn Leaves of Sugarloaf, Summerville was the executive director for Emeritus, a senior living community in Sandy Springs, where he led regional move-ins and total consensus growth. Earlier in his career, Summerville also served as community relations manager for Atlas Healthcare and Hospice. Summerville studied economics at the University of Georgia.
