December 05, 2012 JOHNS CREEK, Ga. – The Johns Creek Christian Church wants to put everyone in the holiday mood and collect food for the needy at the same time.
So with the help of the Gwinnett Symphony Orchestra, the GSO Chorus and the Johns Creek Christian Church Choir, the church is hosting a free Christmas concert.
The only admission is a request for non-perishable food items as a donation.
The music will be selected suites from the late Atlanta Symphony Conductor Robert Shaw's "The Many Moods of Christmas" Sunday, Dec. 9, at 5:30 p.m.
GSOC Music Director Rick Smith and GSOC Associate Conductor Barton Gilleland will lead the vocal forces of two chorales and brilliant orchestra in favorite holiday classics, including "Sleigh Ride," "O Holy Night" and others.
