JOHNS CREEK, Ga. – Northview High School graduate Seong Su Kim will attend the U.S. Military Academy in the fall. Kim, a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club and Future Business Leaders of America, also attended the Korean American School of Atlanta and participated in the Duke TIP Program.
In addition to playing varsity basketball and varsity track and field, Kim served on Northview's student government as class council president (junior and senior year) and as a representative (sophomore year). He also participated in Northview's Athletic Leadership Council.
Kim attended the West Point Summer Leadership Experience at the U.S. Military Academy last year.
"I am not sure about my major yet, but I am leaning toward international relations and to a potential branch military intelligence after graduating," said Kim. "It is my dream to serve active duty and be deployed in South Korea so I can help both my country and my home country."
Kim has also received several academic awards, including the honor roll and is an AP Scholar.
He volunteered at the Korean American School of Atlanta and at the Hanbit Presbyterian Church Vacation Bible School. Kim interned at the Good Neighboring Campaign last year and was a debate coach teacher for State Bridge Crossing Elementary School students.
