ROSWELL, Ga. – The Earth Day Festival in Roswell on April 22 featured the art works of a student art competition. There were seven winners awarded at the festival. All of their art work was displayed at the festival and then will be displayed at City Hall for the month of May.
The theme was, "What does going green mean to me?" Many of the students were from the fourth grade at Birmingham Falls Elementary School, but the contest was open to all students. The grand prize went to Katherine Coyne from St. Francis High School for her piece "Don't mess with Mother Earth."
"I think the kids showed a good bit of imagination. Three were sculptural, which is pretty inventive for 9- and 10-year-olds," said coordinator Francia Lindon.
