Local high school student wins speech contest

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. American Legion Post 307 announced that Elizabeth Ann Trinh was the winner of the 76th annual Constitutional Speech Contest conducted on Feb. 10.

Trinh, a senior at Northview High School, received a scholarship check for $250 and a first place medal.

The contest was conducted at the new Georgia National Guard Readiness Center in Cumming.

The contest, conducted since 1938, is designed to teach and instill in students an appreciation for the U.S. Constitution and the responsibilities, duties, rights and privileges of American citizenship.
