Funds go to technology, science classroom enrichment

Board members of the River Eves Education Foundation show their enthusiasm for the upcoming Spring Bash March 8.
February 18, 2014
ROSWELL, Ga. – The River Eves Education Foundation (REEF) is having its fourth annual Spring Bash, "Caddyshack: An '80s Golf Par-Tee," Saturday, March 8.

Festivities are at the Horseshoe Bend Country Club in Roswell. Community members are invited to don their best "Bushwood Country Club attire" for this year's costume contest and fundraiser.

Join the community from 7 p.m. to midnight for live music and dancing, a fabulous silent auction and raffle, delicious food and a cash bar.

Tickets are $65 per person until Feb. 28 and $75 after March 1. Tickets and sponsorship packages for $250 and $500 can be purchased online on the REEF Caddyshack Page.

At the bash, supporters and the community will celebrate REEF's many successes, including the new technology coach, Lizzie Fragale.

"River Eves placed Fulton County's first foundation-funded technology coach last spring and based on the success, we unanimously voted to continue the program again this year," said River Eves Principal Neil Pinnock. "Mrs. Fragale is helping our teachers integrate a wide spectrum of technology into their classrooms and appreciate the foundation's support of this important initiative."

Fragale, a graduate of the University of Georgia, has her master's degree in secondary English from Kennesaw State University. She joined River Eves in the fall after teaching for five years in Cobb County schools.

The REEF Spring Bash's silent auction features a New York City getaway that includes air fare and tickets to "Saturday Night Live" and "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."

Also up for bid are dining for four at the chef's table at the new Foundation Social Eatery and vacation stays at homes on Hilton Head Island, S.C., and St. George Island, Fla.

Online auction bids will be available during the event for those who cannot attend.

REEF has raised $250,000 since its inception in 2010 and continues to deliver on its mission to enrich and support the academic experience of the students at River Eves Elementary.
