JOHNS CREEK, Ga. – Barnwell Elementary fourth- and fifth-grade Talented and Gifted (TAG) students explored the varied aspects of healthcare with the assistance of professionals from the Centers for Disease Control and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite. The students studying an epidemic unit learned about methods of disease transmission, protection and prevention.
"I learned how easily disease can spread and basically anything you touch is a vector for disease," said fifth-grade student Alaina Quinn.
Students were informed about the diverse set of healthcare providers who work together to help address serious medical issues. The TAG students were able to view both the mechanical and technological aspects of healthcare.
