Georgia Tech

ATLANTA – KayLeigh Dent of Alpharetta has graduated from Georgia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. A 2008 graduate of Alpharetta High School, Dent was also named on the Dean’s List and was a member of the NCAA Georgia Tech cheerleading team.  The daughter of Allen and Debra Dent, she has accepted a position with AT&T’s Corporate Leadership Development Program.

Georgia Baptist College of Nursing

ATLANTA – Alissa (Ali) Gauger is a 2013 recipient of a $2,000 scholarship from the Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association (FNSNA). A junior nursing student at Georgia Baptist College of Nursing of Mercer University, she has immersed herself in leadership opportunities and will serve as the 2013 president for the Georgia Baptist Association of Nursing Students. Gauger, a pianist and choir member at Alpharetta First United Methodist Church, is a 2008 Milton High graduate and a 2012 Furman University graduate.

Clemson University

CLEMSON, S.C. – Michael Harrison Bates of Alpharetta used his spring break from Clemson University to help with Hurricane Sandy relief in Tom’s River, N.J. Bates, a junior majoring in mechanical engineering, participated in Clemson’s Alternative Break Program, which provides students the chance to exchange their fall and spring vacations for service-learning experiences.

Georgia Regents University

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Ashlyn Fowler of Alpharetta is one of only 111 students nationwide selected for a highly competitive, 10-week Summer III Nursing Externship at the Mayo Clinic. Fowler, a senior at Georgia Regents University, will be working in a general and surgical trauma unit at the Mayo Clinic.

Brenau University

GAINESVILLE, Ga. – Alexis Goldstein, a junior at Chattahoochee High in Johns Creek, and Kimberly Coleman, a senior at Roswell High School, each earned awards in the Brenau University Young Women’s Art and Design Exhibition competition for Georgia high school students. Called W.A.D.E., the competition offered more than $40,000 in Brenau scholarships and $1,000 in cash prizes.

Goldstein, the daughter of Sherri Goldstein, earned a Faculty Award for her piece entitled “Leaf.”

Coleman, the daughter of Janie Coleman, earned an Award of Merit for her entry titled “United.”

Bellarmine University

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Bellarmine University has named Roswell resident Kevin Heiny to the Dean’s List for fall semester. Heiny is a senior majoring in business administration.

Benedictine University

LISLE, Ill. – Laura Frazzetta of Cumming was among 355 students named to the Dean’s Recognized List at Benedictine University for the fall semester.

Saint Augustine’s University

RALEIGH, N.C. – Joshua Manners of Suwanee has been admitted to Saint Augustine’s University for the fall semester.

Young Harris College

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – Erin Holst of Johns Creek has been named to the Dean’s List at Young Harris College for the fall semester. She is a 2012 graduate of Chattahoochee High School.
