March 28, 2013JOHNS CREEK, Ga. – Chattahoochee High School's Travis Marshall has signed a national letter of intent to play football for the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Md. He will first attend the Naval Academy Prep School in the fall of 2013.
Marshall, a member of the 2010 AAAA state championship team at Chattahoochee, was named the 2012 Montlick and Associate Player of the Year.
Some of his other recognitions include being named September 2012 Offensive Player of the Week for the North Fulton/Forsyth Touchdown Club. He was nominated for the Chamber Bowl (though he was unable to play due to prior commitments) and was an honorable mention for All -Region 6AAAAAA Player for 2012.
In 2011, he was also September's North Fulton/Forsyth Touchdown Club Offensive Player of the Week, was named second team All- Region 7AAAA, and was named 2011 Max Preps Player of the Week for Oct. 10.
In track, Marshall was 7AAAA region winner for the 400-meter in 2010. He was a member of the 4 x 100-meter relay team, which placed second in region in 2010 and 2011 and a member of the 4 x 400 relay, which also placed second in region.
In 2010, 2011 and 2012, he was named Neighbor Newspaper's Athlete of the Week. He is also a part of the 4 x 400 relay and distance medley relay teams that hold the Chattahoochee record.
