Seventh-grade Johns Creek girls in Olympic development program

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. – Taylor Road Middle School seventh-grader Cecily Mohammed and Holy Redeemer Catholic School seventh-grader Emory Wegner were chosen March 4 to be on the Select A soccer team after their outstanding performances in the USL Super Y 2013 Girls Olympic Development Program (ODP) held at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
The girls were chosen to the top A team from a pool of more than 80 players from across the United States and Canada. Both girls were invited to the national camp based on their performances during the U12 Super Y summer season and their performances at the Super Y National Tournament in December.
Mohammed plays on the Alpharetta Ambush U13 Elite team as a center defender and Wegner is the starting goalkeeper and captain of the team.
