March 20, 2013ALPHARETTA, Ga. – Rebecca Burgess, 18, of Alpharetta was selected to participate in the 2013 Miss Teen Atlanta pageant competition March 24. She attends Alpharetta High School and will go to Georgia College in Milledgeville in the fall.
Burgess learned her of acceptance into this year's competition when the pageant announced their selections following interviews in the Atlanta area.
Burgess competes for her share of thousands of dollars in prizes and specialty gifts that will be distributed to contestants. She will compete in the Miss Teen division, one of four that will have young ladies ages 7-19 competing in modeling routines that include casual wear and formal wear. Most importantly, she will display her personality and interviewing skills for the judging panel.
If Burgess were to win the title of Miss Teen Atlanta, she would represent Atlanta and the surrounding communities at the national competition in Orlando, Fla.
Community businesses, organizations and private individuals can assist Burgess, who is seeking sponsorships from local businesses. Through sponsorship, each contestant receives all the necessary training, rehearsals and financial support that will allow her to become a confidant and well-prepared contestant in this year's pageant.
