MILTON, Ga. – At gymnastics meets Nov. 11 and Nov. 18, sisters Lilah and Julia Versluis of Milton both became 2012 Georgia State Champions in the all-around competition.
Lilah, 6 years old, won state champion in all-around and uneven bars for USA Level 3 at the meet at Lanier High School Nov. 11. This is Lilah's first year of competition.
Julia, her 8-year-old sister, won state champion in the all-around and the floor for USA Level 5 at the meet at Roswell Gymnastics Nov. 18. Julia was all-around state champion last year at level 4, so she wanted to repeat as champion this year.
The sisters train at Northwind Gymnastics in Alpharetta along with their 12-year-old sister whose competition season for Level 9 starts in January.
