JOHNS CREEK, Ga. – Barnwell Elementary second-graders will be learning about the power of prevention through the Risk Watch Prevention program sponsored by the National Fire Protection Association. Chad McGiboney, division chief and fire marshal, introduced students to the program's interactive health curriculum. The program includes bi-monthly presentations, and strives to assist students in recognizing and avoiding risks.
Instructional materials will address dangers such as falls, burns and poisoning. The program sets measurable goals and helps to support students in making positive decisions about personal safety.
