MILTON, Ga. – Zach Eller, a student at Milton High School, has signed a letter of intent to pitch for the University of South Carolina-Aiken. Eller, a left-hander, plays for Southern Prospect Baseball.
The University of South Carolina-Aiken baseball team was ranked 20th in the final 2012 Collegiate Baseball Newspaper NCAA Division II Poll. The Pacers were ranked inside the top 30 in the final 16 national polls. The final ranking of 20th marks the first time since 2009 that the Pacers have appeared in the final national rankings.
Their state-of-the-art facilities, built with generous donations from Roberto Hernandes, helped Eller make his decision. The stadium seats 1,000 and has the amenities of a Division I ballpark.
USC-Aiken is ranked as the No. 1 public baccalaureate college in the South in the 2012 U.S. News and World Report Guide, "America's Best Colleges." This is the 14th consecutive year USC-Aiken has been ranked in the top three of this category.
