November 28, 2012 JOHNS CREEK, Ga. – Ivy Bridge Academy recently took home first place honors at the Bob Jones Academy Middle School public forum debate tournament.
The team of Brian Hu (Webb Bridge Middle School, eighth grade) and Rachel Lee (River Trail Middle School, eighth grade) went undefeated, earning them top prize.
The team of Preston Lee (North Gwinnett Middle School, seventh grade) and John Moon (Autrey Mill Middle School, seventh grade) only lost one debate, earning them a sixth place overall finish.
Ivy Bridge competed against teams from South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee. This was their first tournament.
Ivy Bridge Academy offers debate classes for all kids, fourth through 12th grades. Aside from the recent success with its middle school program, its high school students have recently won the Westminster Novice tournament and Chattahoochee Novice tournament.
