Roswell gives foe sternest test to date

November 08, 2012
MARIETTA, Ga. – Roswell gave unbeaten and state-ranked Lassiter its toughest test in region play this season before falling to the Trojans 28-14 last Friday night.

Trailing 21-14 at the half, the Hornets put together a long drive to start the third quarter, but the Trojans held and Roswell missed a field goal. Lassiter scored the only points of the second half on a touchdown early in the fourth quarter.

Lassiter jumped out to a 14-0 lead midway through the first period, with Milton transfer Ryan Jenkins scoring the second touchdown on a 50-yard pass from Eddie Printz, who threw for 241 yards.

Roswell scored early in the second quarter on a 13-yard pass from Ryan Monty to Bernie Arowoselu. After a Lassiter TD, the Hornets closed within 21-14 at the half on a 60-yard run by Andrew Kwateng, who sparked Roswell's first scoring drive.

Kwateng carried 22 times for 187 yards, with Monty completing 12 of 18 passes for 135 yards.

Safety Josh Selembo led Roswell's defensive effort with a team-high 15 tackles.

The Hornets (1-5 in the region, 2-7 overall), close out the season at home Friday against Walton (5-1, 7-2), which will be the region's No. 2 seed in the playoffs, but may be without several injured star players.
