October 30, 2012 CUMMING, Ga. – Each year, the Forsyth County marching bands come together at one of the high schools to perform in the Forsyth County Marching Band Exhibition. This year's exhibition was held on Oct. 16 at Lambert High School. The five county high schools were present to perform, Forsyth Central, Lambert, North Forsyth, South Forsyth and West Forsyth. Local middle school bands were also present in the audience.
"We really use the exhibition as a way to see each other's shows and for the middle schools to see what the high schools are doing," said Tom Tucker, band director of the Forsyth Central Flash of Crimson. "For me, the Forsyth County Marching Band Exhibition is a great way to see everybody's marching show in a relaxed and fun environment. It's a great way for the students to see a wide variety of shows, styles and techniques."
Tucker also said that this is one of the students' favorite performances of the season, because they are playing for their peers, their parents and their communities.
"The students really get fired-up to perform and show the rest of the county the results of their hard work," Tucker said. "Having been at all of the previous exhibitions, I came away from this year really marveling at how well all of the Forsyth County bands are doing."
