ALPHARETTA, Ga. The children in fourth grade at Creek View Elementary concluded their Native American unit by participating in a traditional Potlatch (gift-giving festival). The idea for the celebration comes from the Native Americans of the Northwest region of the United States. The students created their own items, and then met in the cafeteria to window shop other classmates' items and trade just like the Native Americans. Students Zubin Fredericks, left, and Dylan Huskey swap items during the school Potlatch.
