Church awning damaged in Forsyth

August 12, 2014
FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Someone hit the awning of a church and drove off, according to a Cumming Police incident report.

On July 30, the pastor of Trinity Worship Center Church, 315 Kelly Mill Road, told deputies the awning behind the church had been struck and severely damaged.

The pastor said this makes the third time this has happened since the awning was built. He said they tried to build it with smaller poles to prevent a similar incident from happening again, but one of those poles was also damaged along with the main awning.

Deputies said the damage looked consistent with that of a small truck and there were pieces of what appeared to be a taillight scattered on the scene.
