ALPHARETTA, Ga. – An Alpharetta woman was arrested May 31 after she allegedly stole nearly $900 worth of goods from a local store.
Police were called to the Macy's store at North Point Mall about 6 p.m. after a report of a shoplifter.
Employees said they saw Laetitia T. Lapa, 32, of Lake Union Hill Way, Alpharetta, walk around the store selecting several items and walk into a fitting room along with a large brown paper bag and purse.
They say she placed the items into her bags and tried to leave the store without paying for them. She was stopped at the door. Several dresses and tops were among the stolen items, in total valued at $884. Lapa was arrested for felony shoplifting.
