CUMMING, Ga. — A woman caught shoplifting would not go down without a fight, according to a Cumming Police incident report.
The loss prevention officer of Home Depot, 1000 Market Place Boulevard, told officers they had a woman in their office because she was shoplifting.
The woman put a plastic yellow bag that already contained several items inside a shopping cart. She was seen on video surveillance in the plumbing section and paint section putting items in her cart.
She was seen going to the return desk where the line was very long.
Officers said it looks as if she got tired of waiting and went to the garden section. She made her way to the front where she retuned the shopping cart to an employee. She took out her yellow bag that contained the items she selected from the store.
The two prevention officers stopped her outside the store. They said she "put up a good fight" and "wrestled her to the ground."
While she was being interviewed by officers, she gave them a false name and date of birth.
She eventually gave officers the right information, and she returned with two outstanding warrants out of Lumpkin and Hall counties for probation violation.
Teresa Daniel, 46, was charged with theft by shoplifting, giving false name to law enforcement officer and hindering law enforcement – all misdemeanors.
