ALPHARETTA, Ga. – An Alpharetta man was arrested Nov. 11 after allegedly driving drunk and nearly hitting a teenager with his car.
Police were called to a Marietta Street address after reports of a domestic dispute. According to police, they saw the suspect's Yukon SUV drive away from the scene of the disturbance by cutting a corner of an intersection, jumping the curb onto a sidewalk and nearly hitting a 13-year-old child. The vehicle was pulled over.
The driver, Jose Cruz Chavira-Ortiz, 38, of Renton, Ohio, was found to be drunk and was arrested for DUI, failure to maintain lane and reckless driving.
