Cumming liquor store burglarized, $1.7K stolen

October 17, 2013
CUMMING, Ga. — Someone broke into a liquor store and stole $1,700 in cash and 15 cartons of cigarettes, according to a Cumming Police incident report.

On Oct. 5, officers were dispatched to Beverage Depot, 2536 Atlanta Road, in reference to an alarm.

When officers arrived, they saw the back door open and the power had been cut off.

While clearing the store, officers said a ceiling tile was missing and the camera wires had been cut.

Officers checked the roof and saw several boards missing from the gable area.

Video surveillance did not show anyone, but the time stamp showed at about 1:40 a.m. the power cut off.

The owner inventoried the office and said $1,700 in cash and 15 cartons of cigarettes were missing. Also, four bottles of high-end liquor may have been missing, but the owner said he was unsure at the time.
