CUMMING, Ga. — A resident in the 4000 block of Chestnut Springs Court reported two suspicious men in the area at about 6:30 a.m. Sept. 27.
When Forsyth County Sheriff's deputies arrived, they found the two men sitting on a curb in the subdivision.
One man lived in the subdivision and said they had just gotten back from playing cards all night.
He gave the deputies a Georgia State Correctional Release identification card.
The other man said he did not have ID and gave the deputies information that did not register in their database.
While deputies reentered the man's information, he stood up and ran into the backyard of a home.
Deputies chased and followed the man as he jumped over a 6-foot fence.
A deputy fell down a shallow embankment behind the fence and the suspect got away.
Deputies began to clear the area, but were unable to relocate the suspect.
Soon after, a 911 call came in about a man running around a home in the Copper Creek subdivision.
Deputies found Xavier Sethea, 21, hiding under a porch and arrested him.
Sethea was charged with obstruction of a law enforcement officer and obstruction of criminal investigation, both misdemeanors, and was taken to Forsyth County Detention Center.
