Thief steals boat mat in Forsyth County
August 19, 2013
FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — A customer ordered a boat mat, but never received it, according to a Forsyth County Sheriff's incident report.
On Aug. 6, the manager of The Matworks, 2020 Grassland Parkway, told deputies someone stole a package that was left outside the store.
He said the 9-foot by 9-foot boat mat was to be picked up by UPS about 4 p.m. Aug. 5 and overnighted to a customer outside his main gate.
The customer called the manager the next morning and said the package hadn't arrived.
The manager called the driver to ask about the package and the driver said it was not there when he went to pick it up.
The manager said he checked video surveillance and saw a man wearing a tan hat, red shorts and brown work shoes drive up in a white pickup truck.
The man picked up the package, loaded it into the bed of the truck and drove off.
