CUMMING, Ga. — Someone trespassed on Sawnee EMC property and shot 12 bullets into the safety light attached to a power station, according to a Forsyth County Sheriff's incident report.

On May 29, the safety and training coordinator of Sawnee EMC, 5500 Heardsville Road, told deputies trespassers shot the bullets into the light which will cost about $200 to replace.

Deputies said the bullets appear to have come from a large-caliber weapon.

The employee also showed deputies damage done to a power switch, which if it needs to be replaced, could cost the company thousands of dollars.

Had it been destroyed, it would have affected power to a great many power customers in the area.

The company has asked for extra patrols in the area, especially during nighttime.
