Stolen ID leads to credit harassment in Johns Creek

June 03, 2013
JOHNS CREEK, Ga. – Someone has repeatedly tried to open credit cards using a Saint Regis Lane resident's identity.

The victim told police she started receiving letters in the mail May 18 informing her that someone was attempting to open a line of credit in her name. The following day, she received two more notices from different stores. She called and informed the stores she had not tried to get a credit card.

She received yet another letter May 20 and when she informed the owner their information was fraudulent, $1,300 had already been purchased in her name.

The next day, two other credit card companies called her informing her of someone opening a line of credit.

She told police she lost her wallet last year at Perimeter Mall and that could be where her information was stolen. The credit agencies were notified.
