Alpharetta resident victim of burglary

June 03, 2013
ALPHARETTA, Ga. An Alpharetta resident reported $5,000 worth of personal items stolen from her home.

Alpharetta Police responded May 17 to a burglary report that had occurred the previous day, according to the report.

The victim told police that she was at Sage, a restaurant on Haynes Bridge Road, at 7 p.m. and had some glasses of wine. At around 11:30 p.m., the victim called a taxi cab when an unknown man offered her a ride home.

The victim stated that she laid her purse on the kitchen counter, charged her phone and fell asleep on her couch. At around 2 a.m. the next morning, she went back to her bedroom to sleep.

At 7:30 a.m., the victim woke up to find her purse and several electronics missing. She told police she believes that the male entered her house while she was asleep and took the items.

Later that day, the victim went to retrieve her car from Sage, but found her work computer, perfume and makeup bag stolen from the car.

It doesn't fare well for any woman to present herself in this manner in public. Tacky. I bet this is an Alpharetta housewife who left all of her personal affects in plain sight, just like every other helpless martyr of stolen articles at the Greenway or public parks in the area. The man who stole these items should ultimately be held responsible for his crime - but crime is also about opportunity. Remove the opportunity and reduce your risk. Can we PLEASE redefine what constitutes "victim" and "preventable crime"???

The women's things were locked in her trunk. The burglar stole her keys and went and unlocked the car and took them.
