Arsonist tries to burn Forsyth County Ingles

May 13, 2013
CUMMING, Ga. — Someone attempted to start a fire in the cooler of an Ingles Supermarket. The vandal used matches and Easy Fire starter logs, according to a Cumming Police incident report.

On May 2, an employee of the Ingles at 436 Canton Road told officers he smelled kerosene when he walked into the dairy cooler.

The employee said he investigated and found several burnt and unused matches stuck inside and scattered around an Easy Fire starter log.

Officers found an opened box of Easy Fire starter logs in the camping supplies area with three of the logs missing out of an 18-pack.

The other two unopened fire logs were found inside the same cooler in a box where employees keep personal belongings.
