3 caught passing bogus $485 check at Alpharetta store

March 25, 2013
ALPHARETTA, Ga. Three people were arrested March 14 for allegedly trying to pass a fake check at Walmart.

Police were called to the Walmart Grocery on Haynes Bridge Road. Employees said Dominique Nadine Hill, 26, of Acworth, was dropped off at the store by two men. Hill tried to cash a check for $485 made out to her.

Employees said the font on the check looked off and checked with the business listed on the check and were told the check was fake. When Hill was arrested, the men who drove her to the store tried to flee. They were pulled over and arrested.

Hill, Alphonso Heath, 52, and William Dexter Williams, 45, both of Decatur were arrested for forgery.
