Hidden laptop leads to arrest in Milton

February 15, 2013
MILTON, Ga. A man was arrested Feb. 4 after allegedly trying to steal a laptop from Walmart on Windward Parkway.

Store employees said they saw Michael Wayne Birchfield, 34, of Cumming pick out a laptop and then hide it in a comforter set. He allegedly walked around the store and then headed to the self-checkout lane, where he paid for the comforter set but not the laptop.

He was stopped at the door and the laptop was pulled out. Birchfield was arrested for felony shoplifting.
