CUMMING, Ga. — A man allegedly planted a surveillance camera in the air duct of his step-daughter's bathroom, according to a Forsyth County Sheriff's incident report.

Timothy Walters, 47, was arrested for eavesdropping or surveillance and possession of methamphetamines, both felony offenses.

At 1:30 p.m. Feb. 4, a woman in the 5800 block of Holland Drive told deputies her husband had been spending more time in a basement room near her daughter's bedroom and behaving differently.

She told deputies after her husband left for work, she searched his computer's Internet history and found searches for home surveillance cameras, guns and elements of assault crimes against children.

The victim said she then went into her daughter's bathroom and found a video camera hidden behind an air vent facing the shower.

Investigators got a search warrant to continue the investigation.

While waiting outside for investigators to return with a search warrant, a deputy spotted Walters pulling into the home's driveway about 6:45 p.m.

Walters sped toward the back of the home when he saw the deputy.

Once Walters stopped his car, the deputy approached him and asked if anything was in his pockets. Walters told him he was carrying a pipe, according to the report.

The deputy patted Walters down and found a glass pipe. Inside the car, the deputy found a plastic bag containing methamphetamine.

Walters was later charged for eavesdropping and possession of methamphetamines. He was taken to the Criminal Investigation Division Central Special Victims Unit office to be interviewed by investigators.

The maximum sentence for eavesdropping is five years, according to the Bell-Forsyth Judicial Circuit District Attorney's office.

The woman obviously never "really" knew the man she married. I'm sure there were small, suttle hints that he subconsciously revealed on being infatuated with his step-daughter as well as hanging out in the basement (like the way he looked at her, how he touched her, the amount of attention he gave her, etc.). No telling how long he would have gotten away with this before escalating it to physical assault/abuse/rape. It would have only been a matter of time. Fortunately he was stopped.

Well, not only will he lose his wife and home, but he will lose his job and have a VERY hard time finding another with multiple felony convictions and jail time on his record. He should be charged as a sexual predator too.
