ALPHARETTA, Ga. A teen learned the hard way Jan. 20 that not everyone is honest, when he sold his sneakers for counterfeit cash.
The victim, a teenage boy, told police he wanted to sell his Nike Jordan Retro 4 sneakers. He listed them on Facebook and a buyer responded. They agreed to meet on Lexington Farm Drive for the exchange.
The buyer pulled up with two other young men in a white Hyundai Sonata. He asked to try on the shoes and then agreed to buy them for $190. He handed over the money and the men departed. When the youth returned home, he realized the cash he was paid was counterfeit.
