FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — A man pumped gas and drove away from the station without paying for it, according to a Forsyth County Sheriff's report.
Between 11:20 and 11:30 p.m. Dec. 20, the store manager of Murphy Gas station, 5415 Atlanta Highway in Alpharetta, told deputies a man pumped $36.52 worth of gas in his blue Chrysler and did not pay for it.
According to the report, the station does not have pre-pay pumps, which makes it easier for drivers to pump gas and not pay for it.
The manager said there are two other incidents of the same person driving off without paying. The other amounts were $26.68 and $38.60.
The manager was able to give deputies a tag number to follow-up on.
"the station does not have pre-pay pumps, which makes it easier for drivers to pump gas and not pay for it..."
Well maybe in this economy and the permanent high gas prices (which likely will go even higher over the next four years of Obama), they need to take steps to invest in pre-pay pumps.Otherwise, they will continue to get hit. That's something they can bank on. Jason

High prices do NOT make it ok to steal. There is very little margin for station owners when it comes to gas, so investing in expensive pumps to cover the cost of criminal activity may not be possible for these small business owners. I hope the police are able to identify the criminals and take action. Beekay
