Cigarettes stolen from Forsyth County gas station

January 08, 2013
FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — A thief made off with several cartons of cigarettes, according to a Forsyth County Sheriff's report.

At 6:20 a.m. Dec. 27, the manager of the Shell convenience store, 1510 McFarland Parkway, told deputies his security company called him about the alarm being set off.

The manager sent his employee to the store instead of calling police. When the employee arrived, he found the door had been opened and damaged with a prying tool.

Inside the store, cartons of cigarettes were scattered behind the cash register. Cabinet doors and the cash register had also been opened and rifled through.

No cash was missing. The manager of the store was not immediately able to tell how many cartons of cigarettes were stolen. Each carton is valued at about $48.
