A history of resisting arrest

December 18, 2012
ALPHARETTA, Ga. — When refusing to cooperate with police, it's best not to have an outstanding warrant for obstruction. An Atlanta woman found that out Dec. 7 at North Point Mall.

Employees at Victoria's Secret told police they saw Keyona Shaunta Bryant, 31, of Atlanta, select several items from throughout the store and take them into the fitting room. When she left the fitting room, she had none of the items with her, however her purse appeared full.

Police arrived and found Bryant leaving the mall. She denied buying anything in the mall and then refused to allow the officer to search her purse.

She did, however hand over identification, which turned up an active warrant out of College Park for obstruction. She was arrested on the warrant and a subsequent search of her belongings turned up the missing items.

Bryant was also arrested for shoplifting.
