December 11, 2012 ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Showing up to his court hearing Nov. 28 on drug charges, an Alpharetta man failed the urine test, allegedly having smoked pot recently.
Zane Alexander Rotruck, 20, of Red Oak Lane, Alpharetta, appeared in court for possession of drug paraphernalia. When asked if he would pass a urine test for a drug screen, the man replied "probably not."
His sample returned positive for THC, the active ingredient in marijuana.
He was ordered to return for a new hearing and explicitly told not to drive away from the court. Rotruck allegedly left and immediately tried to drive away. The bailiff stopped him and said Rotruck exhibited signs of having recently smoked pot. He was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, possession of marijuana and contempt of court.
