Home cameras may identify suspect

November 20, 2012
CUMMING, Ga. — A homeowner's video cameras may help deputies catch the thief who robbed his house, according to a Forsyth County Sheriff's incident report.

About 10 a.m. Nov. 9, a man in the 6300 block of Crossroads Road told deputies he returned home from the gym and noticed his front door was unlocked.

He entered his home and found his wife's wallet open on the coffee table and the master bedroom ransacked.

A thief stole two laptop computers, several pieces of gold jewelry, $8 from the wallet and a jar of money from the bedroom of the couple's son.

The victim told deputies he installed video cameras in his home because of a previous theft. Investigators were able to use the video evidence to identify the car used in the robbery.
