October 30, 2012
ALPHARETTA, Ga. – A would-be Marine was arrested Oct. 16 for possession of marijuana
The officer said he was driving on Windward Parkway at about 8:15 p.m. when he saw Jordan Charles Broadway, 26, of Birch Hollow Drive, Roswell, allegedly typing on his phone while driving. When Broadway's car was pulled over, he allegedly admitted to texting while driving. The officer noted Broadway was dressed in a Marine Corps uniform, but "not within regulation." Broadway said he was coming from drills, however he was not a Marine yet; he was in a delayed entry program. He had no military identification.
The officer said he smelled marijuana in the car. Broadway denied it, however a search of his car turned up 9 grams of the drug. Broadway allegedly admitted this was his third time caught with marijuana.
He was arrested for possession of marijuana and using a cellphone while driving.
