MILTON, Ga. — A customer tried to use at least two fraudulent checks Sept. 21 at the Kohl's store on Ga. 9.
According to store employees, a young man attempted to buy two gift cards using SunTrust Bank checks for $150 each. While the first check cleared, the second was declined. The man said he had to check his bank balance and left the store.
A call to SunTrust verified the checks were fraudulent.
The man is allegedly linked to similar purchases at other stores throughout the Atlanta area. The vehicle he drove away in is registered to an Atlanta address, but it was unclear if he is the owner.
