FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — A man who fled from officers Tuesday night, Aug. 14, was taken into custody Thursday afternoon, Aug. 16.

About 2 p.m., Kennie Askew was arrested by the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office warrant unit at a location in Alpharetta.

Askew is charged with obstructing law enforcement officers and driving while his license is suspended after fleeing from officers in Bridle Ridge subdivision on Tuesday night.

Sheriff Ted Paxton said the warrant unit's investigation led to contact with Askew's family, who had him contact deputies.

Following a conversation with Capt. Chris Barrett, Askew agreed to turn himself in and was arrested without incident.

"Thanks to the determination and experience of our warrant unit, Kennie Askew is in custody," Paxton said in a release. "We're glad to be able to ease the minds of those living in neighborhoods involved in the search on Tuesday night, and the rest of the community."

Askew is being held in the Forsyth County Detention Center with bond pending and a hold placed for Cobb and Gwinnett counties, where he faces additional charges.
